At Florida Wrinkles it is our job to ensure that we are sending out healthy and fully vetted puppies. Our puppies see a licensed veterinarian at 8 weeks and get a Florida State Health Cert which includes but not limited to; a Clear Fecal Result, Puppy Vaccines & a Physical Exam. I also ensure that I purchase 1 dose of sentinel for every puppy prior to leaving home.

Our puppies leave us with a backpack with all type of goodies to include toys, treats, pee pads, collar and a folder with all their information included.

Most if not all our puppies are AKC Registered unless sired by Benny as he is an Austria Import and ACA Registered. We Preregister our puppies prior to leaving us unless you are a breeder then the registration name is discussed and agreed upon. We do this to ensure our years of work and dedication show in the registered name of the dogs & puppies. All Our puppies are microchipped and registered, prior to leaving us to ensure they are never lost and not found.

At Florida Wrinkles we include a 2-year health guarantee on every puppy we produce. What does this mean you might ask? It means that we Guarantee our puppies for 2 years of any genetic defects to include Hips, Elbow and Heart. In the event something should arise with your puppy in 2 years you are offered a replacement of equal or lesser value for free.

At Florida Wrinkles we offer a lifetime of breeder support. It doesn't matter any time day or night you are welcome to rcontact us with any question you might have regarding your puppy. We also have a dedicated support group (see below), specifically for our puppy buyers.

What is SPAIDS (Shar-pei Fever) Shar-Pei fever is a hereditary condition that causes recurring episodes of fever and inflammation in Chinese Shar-Pei dogs: Symptoms Include Fever, arthritis, swelling of the joints, especially the hock joint, vomiting, diarrhea, reluctance to move, and abdominal discomfort. 

We here at Florida Wrinkles make every effort to reduce the risk of SPAIDS in our puppies, however that being said this is well-known in Shar-Peis and even a Single Carrier dog can be affected later in life and is not covered in our guarantee. For more information see the link below.

What is POAG/PPL? 

Shar Pei are known to suffer from primary open angle glaucoma (POAG) but have also been reported to be affected by primary lens luxation (PLL).

Primary glaucoma is a painful and blinding disease associated with high pressure inside the eye. It is an inherited condition and is subdivided into two types: primary open angle glaucoma (POAG) and primary closed angle glaucoma (PCAG).

In the Shar Pei both POAG and PLL appear to be caused by the same mutation.

In POAG/PLL, glaucoma results from reduced drainage of fluid from the eye. This causes a build-up of pressure which, in turn, leads to pain and blindness. The eyes become enlarged and the lens of the eye becomes wobbly or even falls completely out of its normal position. Most dogs become affected at approximately 4 – 6 years of age.

When you think of Shar-Pei you think immediately of Wrinkles! Unfortunately, those wrinkles come with hefty consequences. Entropion is something that is very prevalent in the Shar-Peis due to their excess skin because of this we do not offer any guarantees or warranties for entropion.
